Ladies have fun no matter what the weather

I guess some ladies stayed home on Tuesday, June 14, because the skies looked threatening, but 28 of us golfed and the weather turned out to be very nice.

My golf game was about the same as usual…a few great shots, a few bad shots, and many mediocre ones. At this stage of my life as my memory fades in and out I prefer to remember just the good ones. In the case of this week it was the Chip in shot that I made from off the green on Hole 3 that earned me the Chip In Pot for Flight 3. Dorothy Warman won the Chip In Pot for Flight 4 and Kelly McNabney had two birdies to win that pot for Flight 1.

Gross and Net prizes were sponsored this week by Ainsley Gullage of Sun Life, Kelly McNabney of TriPeaks Physio, EBL Ventures and Chad Belbin of HUB International. Flight 1 low gross was won by Kelly McNabney with a score of 36 with low net going to Louise Lodge with a score of 42 (36.5). In Flight 2 Babes Shanko picked up low gross with a 52 while Doreen Landry won low net with a 56 (38.5). Low gross in Flight 3 was won by Audrey Rilcoe with a 56 and low net was Deb Winiski with a 57 (37.5). Low gross in Flight 4 was won by Brenda Carl with a 65 while Barb Smith and Betty Foote tied for second low gross with a score of 67.

Prizes from Salle Ranch, Stamer Logging, Barriere Motor Inn, Barriere Timber Mart, Little Fort Subway and the Carls (Brian and Brenda) were not won so they went into the door prize draw or helped North Thompson Funeral Services with the booby prizes that went to the ladies who hit their balls into the gully on Hole 7…. and there were many handed out.

Louise Lodge won the Least Putt prize with 14 putts while Dorothy Warman won the Most Putt prize with 25 putts. Long Drive in 2 prizes were won by Anita Hill (Sam’s Pizza), Barb Smith (Station House Restaurant), Babes Shanko (Campbell & Co.) and Kelly McNabney (Thompson Valley Awards). Out of four long drive prizes only one was won by Kelly McNabney (Armour Mountain Office). Three out of eight available KPs were picked up by Kelly McNabney (Cindy Leibel of Westwin Realty), Terri Jones (MJB Lawyer) and Karen Peterson (Barb and Carman Smith). A KP in 2 on Hole 7 earned Kelly McNabney a prize from Quality Contractors. Three people perfected their putting and picked up prizes – Betty Foote (AG Foods), Audrey Rilcoe (Munro’s Clothing) and Babes Shanko (Rainer Custom Cutting).

Now a quick message to all you ladies out there who don’t golf on Tuesday night – You should try it. We have a fantastic time. Golfing is loads of fun. If you haven’t given it a try come out and see what we are all raving about. If you would like more information or perhaps want to ask a question feel free to contact Debbie Rainer (250-672-9407) or Leslie Stirling (250-672-5706). See you at the course.
