The ladies night gala, “Putting on the Glitz” held at the Barriere Lions Hall  on March 7 was totally sold out and a great success.

Chef Bob Sorenson served an excellent dinner delivered to the tables by members of the Barriere Secondary’s Senior Boys Basketball Team.

The Anti Violence Advocates Society extended a big “thank you” to the event’s major sponsors; Stamer Logging, Barriere Lions Club, Women of St Paul Thrift Store, Bev Murphy, and of course the wonderful models who wowed and entertained the crowd.

The event was a fundraiser for the Respectful Relationships curriculum that will be implemented in Barriere Elementary and Barriere Secondary schools this fall.  This series of courses will be delivered to Grades 7, 8, 9, and 10 students and is designed to help break the cycle of abuse.

A huge “thank you” was also given out to all the ladies who attended the event and who provided such great support for this important initiative.
