Lions annual book sale in October

Lions Book Fair 2011

For the third year in a row, the Lions will be holding their Book Sale on Oct. 22, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lions Hall in Barriere.

The first year, funds went toward various Lions projects in the community.  Last year, the proceeds were donated to the Lower North Thompson Learning and Literacy program.  This year the funds will go to various Lions projects, since they have already donated to Learning and Literacy as part of the Raise-A-Reader matching funds opportunity.

There will be books for all ages and interests, as the hall will be filled with tables loaded with books and boxes of books under the tables and along the stage.  It’s the perfect place to browse for your favourite author, or that one book to complete a set.

Those wishing to donate books for the sale, can drop them off at Napa Auto Parts or Barriere Employment Services, or by calling 250-672-2111 to arrange having them picked up by October 18.
