There was a large turn-out of people at the Lion’s Annual Used Book Sale, held Saturday, Nov. 25, in their hall in Barriere. Almost $500 in used books were sold, and at 50 cents to a dollar per book, that is a lot of books. The surrounding community really participated in this event by donating numerous boxes of books and then by coming out to buy more books. Barriere and Area Literacy and Learning would like to thank everyone, and especially the Lions Club for helping to raise funds to foster youth literacy initiatives in the area. Organizers say they are considering running the sale for more than one day next year.
