Lions roar for Literacy

The Barriere Lions Club’s recent Annual Used Book Sale held the first weekend in November proved once again that people do enjoy a good book. The Community Hall was filled to bursting with all manner of books for all ages, and prices were no more than 50 cents or $1. The two day sale was a grand success with all funds raised earmarked for family literacy programs within the Barriere area.

Hayward said, “This is wonderful, just under $1,000 to help us continue ongoing family literacy programs within our community and area. We really appreciate all of the support that the Barriere Lions Club continues to provide to help improve the education and social wellbeing of those in our communities.”
