Little Fort / Blackpool firefighters recognized for years of service

Members of the Blackpool and Little Fort Volunteer Fire Departments were recognized Sept. 2, for the many years of dedicated service they have given to their communities.

Members of the Blackpool and Little Fort Volunteer Fire Departments were recognized Sept. 2, for the many years of dedicated service they have given to their communities.

Recognized with 20 and 25 year service awards and medals were Little Fort’s Fire Chief Kam Jim, and Blackpool Fire Department’s Doug Braaten and Gary Braaten.

The awards were presented by Jason Tomlin of the Thompson Nicola Regional District (TNRD), Mike Adams the OFC Fire Advisor for the North Thompson, and Blackpool Fire Chief Mike Savage, who also received his own special Chief hat. Also in attendance at the event was TNRD Area ‘O’ Director Bill Kershaw.

An appreciation dinner was also provided for all the members of both fire departments.
