Barriere and District Chamber of Commerce has changed its name to Barriere and Area Chamber of Commerce. This was done due to the similarities between the District of Barriere and us.
On July 2nd the Chamber and Tourist Information Centre will be located at 4629 Barriere Town Road (formerly Barriere Employment Office). The Information Centre will have available to travellers a variety of brochures and magazines of Barriere and surrounding areas. Summer hours for the Info Centre are Monday – Saturday, 9:00am – 5:00pm. Phone 250-672-9221 or www.barrierechamberofcommerce.com. Also, in our display racks, FREE of charge to all Chamber Members, your business cards and brochures. As a Chamber Member you will also be able to take advantage of our job posting board which will also be listed on our website. Watch for upcoming training seminars and workshops, and if your business needs a boardroom or meeting space, we can take care of that for you.
Business of the year will be celebrated during Small Business Week (Oct 16 – 22) Watch the Star/Journal for more information on how to Nominate a Business. Barriere has well over 100 small businesses operating in the valley. Over 70 of these businesses are Chamber members. These businesses range from home based businesses to restaurants, retail and trades people. Please put your nominations forward to help recognise these hard workers – they do not have to be Chamber members to be nominated. We will be hosting a banquet again this year, hope you all come out to support our businesses!
