Local pop-rock band Lunafix played for a rambunctious crowd of approximately 150 people last Saturday night at the Barriere Senior’s Centre for the Mid Winter Bash.

The family friendly event was a fundraiser for a proposed skateboard park to be located in the downtown area of Barriere.

Lunafix’s brand of music had the dance floor packed as the young and the young at heart danced the night away.

The Knights Inn Restaurant donated the pizza for the evening, with liquid refreshment provided by Barriere AG Foods.

The show was also broadcast live on the air by Barriere’s own radio station, 93.1 The Bear.

Event organizers say they were pleased with the turnout “Barriere once again showed what it’s made of by supporting such a great cause”.

“We would like to thank all of the sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who came out to enjoy this fantastic evening,” said Charlie Kibble. “The Mid Winter Bash fundraiser was a success.”

Kibble noted the grand total raised from the evening event was $1,440 in tickets and donations.

“Thanks to The Bear radio, Knights Inn, AG Foods, Quality Contractors, the Blue Jar, Cal May, Tracey and Jamie Third, Lynda Dunlop, Beverly Murphy, Earl Celesta, Kathy Frezell, and all the other volunteers that made the night so wonderful.”
