Well, it’s time to dust off your favourite hat, or to think about creating a new hat – and why is that?Beacuse on March 14 the Mad Hatter is visiting Treasure Island and will be digging up treasure chests full of delightful trinkets at the 2nd Annual Mad Hatter Tea Party. The doors will open at 11 a.m. at the Barriere Senior’s Hall, and lunch will be served at noon.

The Mad Hatter will be there to help you play a little croquet - Wonderland style.

While you wait for your turn at croquet, there will be puzzles to figure out, and pictures to colour for those who prefer a more artistic activity.

At noon, a light lunch will be served, and the judges will start deciding who will get the prizes for the best hats. There will be lots of prizes for hats (at last count there were 15). Some of the prizes include: a Russian folk art chess set, a box of Purdy’s chocolates, a $25 gift card for the Cineplex in Kamloops, tea, and lots more.

This year proceeds from the event will be donated to Barriere and District Hospice Society.

Get your tickets soon, as there are only 100 available.

Tickets are $10 per person and are available from Sweetnam’s or by contacting Margaret Houben at 250-672-9330. All kids five years of age and younger get in for free!

WARNING - this is a Mad HATTER Tea Party. If you arrive hatless, there will be a $5 surcharge at the door!
