Kamloops-Thompson-Caribou Minister of Parliament Cathy McLeod hosted a public information meeting in Barriere on Aug. 19 at The Ridge.  Part of her presentation included explaining the new electoral system which she says should go to referendum.

“I don’t think it is wrong for Canadians to talk about how we elect our government, but it is imperative that we have a referendum to make the decision,” said the MP, “A referendum after the right education is the only way to go”.

Other topics discussed were Canada’s economy, softwood lumber and the U.S., our National Defense system, pipelines and  local issues.

McLeod says she welcomes her constituents to contact her with their questions and concerns.
