The Eagle’s Nest Aboriginal Head Start, Interior Metis Association, Kwseltkten Services Society and the North Thompson Aboriginal Cultural Centre honoured the missing and murdered Indigenous women on May 5, with a 5-kilometre walk/run from the Clearwater Visitor Info Centre to Dutch Lake Community Centre on the unceded traditional territories of the Simpcw First Nation people.
Participants wore red to show support and to honour the thousands of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two spirit people for Red Dress Day. Those in attendance sang and drummed the Women’s Warrior Song.
