Two Barriere women have decided to try their hand at their own small business in town.

Business partners Barb Gordon and Sheila LaCombe say they will be holding the grand opening of their new store, the Sometimes Boutique, on Nov. 1, from 12 noon to 5 p.m.

You’ll find the Sometimes Boutique situated across from Barriere Employment Services, at #3 4628 Barriere Town Road.

Merchandise for sale in the Boutique will include a wide variety of items, from home decor and accessories, to furniture, bath products, and kids clothing.  Christmas items will also be available after November 11.

“We have unique and unusual items,” said Gordon, “We will also take orders for specific items and can make up gift baskets on request.”

The store will be open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m, for the entire month of November.  They will be closed Sundays and Mondays.

The store will be closed for December and a few months after, but will open again in the spring.  In the meantime, the ladies say they will be scouring the country for more unique items.  The plan is to refurbish and re-finish the treasures they find and to take orders from their customers.

“Those interested in knowing what we’re collecting can get on our email list,” Gordon said, “They can email us at barb.g@telus.net, or drop in at the store during November to be put on the list.  Then we’ll send updates to everyone on the list every few weeks to let them know what sorts of things we are collecting.”
