The North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo Association’s Ambassador program is now in full swing for the year with the recent naming of the 2022 candidates during their June 11, Banner Night and Apron Auction.

Current reigning 2021/2022 Ambassadors, Angela Rutshke and Morgan Bennett, welcomed new candidates Jesimae Harrison sponsored by Armco Construction Ltd., and Devyn Bloomfield sponsored by TNL Cattle & Contracting, with tiaras, banners and flowers. A third candidate, Makayla Akey, sponsored by Sam’s Pizza and Rib House was unfortunately unable to attend the event and will be receiving her tiara and banner at a later date.

A small group of family, friends and area residents joined in the celebration held in the Fall Fair Hall at the fairgrounds in Barriere. MC for the evening was Ambassador Committee Chair Lesley Harpauer, and the volunteer auctioneer for the Apron Auction was Barriere Fire Chief Ashley Wohlgemuth.

The four lovely young ladies modeled a number of aprons they had created themselves, as well as those made by Makalya.

Bidding was active, with plenty of laughs and gentle ribbing between bidders. Eight hand painted aprons raised a total of $670 which will be used towards helping fund the 2022 Ambassador program.

Numerous photographs were taken and everyone enjoyed visiting after the event.
