NT Arts Council plans for a busy year

The North Thompson Arts Council (NTAC) will be having a busy year this year.  First up are several workshops.  One on cake decorating, April 28, and another on card making on May 19. (See community events on page 16 of this paper for more information.)  NTAC hopes to have more workshops throughout the year, but are looking for suggestions on what members would like to see.

The Council will also be taking part in the grand opening of the Barriere Bandshell in Fadear Park on May 8, and members are currently working out what form that participation will take.

President Sylvia Chivers is requesting members to turn in a short bio with pictures for both the NTAC web-site and for the “Arty-Facts” column in the Star/Journal.  The web-site is currently under construction and should be up within the next month or two.

Another big project is this year’s Annual Celebration of the Arts.  It will be held on June 25 and 26 at the grounds of the Barr K Restaurant.  This year the cost for a 10’x10’ space for the two days will be $25 for NTAC members, and $35 for non-members.  A copy of the application form for spaces at the Celebration of the Arts can be found online at ntartscouncil.blogspot.com.

“We are still looking for someone to be our secretary,” stated the president, “Anyone interested in volunteering - please call me at 250-320-0971.”
