Plenty of door prizes for Ladies Night

By Leslie Stirling

And the warm days continue. The afternoon and evening of Tuesday, Aug. 16, were not quite as warm as last week but still hot. Donna Salle had deserted us for the week, so Lorie and Jan joined us to make a foursome. We had a most pleasant round of golf and they helped us out with the prizes and such. Their assistance was much appreciated. We finished supper with birthday cake for Kelly McNabney, Val Aylward and Jeannie Webber. I love birthday cake weeks.

Twenty-seven ladies came to golf, and many of them took home prizes. All I can say is thank heavens for door prizes or I would have gone home empty handed. Kelly McNabney continued her winning ways with a long putt (Station House Restaurant), a KP in 2 (HUB International) and low gross (39) for Flight 1 (Sun Life Financial/Ainsley Gullage). Theresa Young was close behind with low net (43/34), 2 KPs (Cindy Leibel Realtor and Barb and Carman Smith) and a long drive (Barriere Motor Inn). Lorie Chambers won low gross (49) for Flight 2 (TriPeaks Physio/Kelly McNabney) and Doreen Landry won low net (52/34.5) as well as a KP in 3 (Munro’s Clothing and a KP (Brian and Brenda Carl). Sue Meger took low gross (51) in Flight 3 (EBL Ventures) and had a nice long drive (Rainer Custom Cutting). In addition to a KP (Salle Ranch) Trish Thompson won the low net (54/36). The Flight 4 low gross went to Carol Monk with a 53. She also scored a long drive (Sam’s Pizza). Betty Foote took second low gross with a 60 as well as a KP in 2 (Quality Contractors) and a long putt (AG Foods).

Louise Lodge took pots for a Deuce and two Birdies as well a KP in 3 (Stamer Logging) and least putts (11). Kelly McNabney and Janice Advent shared the Birdie pot with Louise. In Flight 2 Debbie Rainer took the Flight 2 Deuce pot as well as a KP (MJB Lawyer). Doreen Landry hit a Birdie to win that pot. In Flight 3 the Birdie was quite large and Jacki Van Sickle walked away with the full amount as well as a long drive (Armour Mountain Office). Anita Hill won the Chip In pot for Flight 3. Jeannie Webber had a KP (Campbell & Co) while Karen Peterson had a long putt (Thompson Valley Awards). Rose Seymour won the most prizes with 25.

By the time you are reading this we will have finished our Fund Raiser for Cancer (August 23). I am sure it was successful but will let you know in my next column what was the total raised. After the fun night we only have three weeks left in our 2022 season. It flies by much too quickly. If you haven’t had a chance to get out yet I hope we will see you at the course on one of those weeks.
