Don’t forget to vote on Saturday, Oct. 15, in the upcoming local elections.

Voting for District of Barriere town council will take place on general voting day, Saturday, Oct. 15, at ‘the Ridge’, 4936 Barriere Town Road, Barriere, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

All six of the incumbent members of Barriere’s town council are running again: Judy Armstrong, Alan Fortin, Scott Kershaw, Rob Kerslake, Donna Kibble, and Amanda Sabyan. They face seven challengers: Marguerite Dodds, Louise Lodge,

Lance Naylor, Colin McInnis, Michelle Rutschke, Debbie Sherman, and Robert Veitch. Only the top six will get onto the new council.

There will be no election for Barriere’s mayor as incumbent Ward Stamer had no challengers and was chosen by acclamation.

There will be no election for TNRD Area O (Lower North Thompson) director as Jill Hayward had no challengers and was chosen by acclamation.

There will be no election for North Thompson (Barriere–Little Fort) school trustee as incumbent Rhonda Kershaw had no challengers and was chosen by acclamation.
