Remembrance Day Ceremonies will be happening in Barriere, Clearwater and Blue River

Join with others as we pay our respects to those who have served, and those still serving

Please take some time out of your day to join with others from the North Thompson Valley as we pay our respects to those who have served and are serving this Remembrance Day, Monday, Nov. 11, 2019.

If you are unable to attend a local event, we then ask that at 11 a.m. you remember by taking two minutes of silence and reflection for the brave men and women who have, and who continue to protect us all.

Ceremonies within the area include the following:

• Nov. 11 - Simpcw First Nation and area residents will be gathering at the Cenotaph spiritual Centre in Chu Chua with the Remembrance Day Ceremony beginning at 10:40 a.m.

• Nov. 11 - The Barriere Legion’s Remembrance Day Parade (all are welcome to participate) will be gathering at the Barriere and Area Chamber of Commerce on Barriere Town Road and moving out at approximately 10:45 a.m. to the Legion cenotaph. Remembrance Day ceremonies will start at 11 a.m. inside the Legion. There will be a Pig Roast to follow, everyone welcome.

• Nov. 11 - In Clearwater, The parade assembles at 10:45 a.m., with march off at 10:50 a.m. The service at Reg Small Park will begin at 10:57 a.m. with “O Canada”, 10:59 a.m. is the “Last Post” and 11 a.m. Silence followed by remembrance day ceremony (Note: if you have any wreaths to lay, pick up no later than 10:30 a.m.) A spaghetti luncheon will follow at Clearwater Legion Hall, everyone welcome.

• Nov. 11 - In Blue River, participants will meet at the Legion Branch 213 hall at 10:45 a.m. Students from the school will make presentations, as will other members of the community.
