RGH Mechanical in Barriere sends fuel for Lytton fire evacuees

In order to offer support to the evacuee’s from the Lytton Fire that decimated the town on June 30, Jana and Rob Holstein of RGH Mechanical in Barriere got together with Trish Munro and arranged for food and water to be trucked into Siska for the evacuees. However, the Holsteins didn’t stop there, saying they “felt that what the town really needed was fuel, as some of the residents didn’t have enough fuel to get out if they had to”.

The Holsteins and their team then worked on a plan to figure out the best way to get the fuel to the residents of Lytton. They put the word out and started accepting eTransfers or cash donations to purchase the fuel so that “together we will ensure people have fuel when needed”.

Kevin Thalheimer also joined in their plan, and brought along with him a number of connections that helped bring it all together. Then Mike Haslett made it all happen by delivering the fuel to Lytton.

The Holsteins have also collected cash/donations/toys and more at their shop in the Barriere Industrial Park for Lytton fire evacuees, with all of the donations going to the evacuation centers and/or the community.

“Thank you for everyone’s compassion,” Jana Holstein posted on social media, “Robert Holstein and I appreciate how our community steps up during times of need.”
