Six candidates for Fall Fair Pageant

Candidate’s Banner Night and Apron Auction Mar. 11

The North Thompson Fall Fair & Rodeo Association (NTFFRA) Pageant Program has now begun its candidacy for the 2011/2012 year.

Six young ladies, from three different North Thompson Valley communities, are participating this year and the Pageant Committee are looking forward to observing all the personal growth and self-confidence the girls are sure to gain throughout their candidacy.

The Pageant Program is designed to maximize the potential of all candidates to become confident and valuable members of their communities and the valley.

Over seven months the candidates will partake in many different curriculum’s that include; etiquette, speech craft, agriculture lessons, self defence, ballroom dancing, sponsorship volunteer hours, fundraising, and an in-depth history lesson of the historic North Thompson Fall Fair & Rodeo.

The young ladies will also gain plenty of hands-on experience interacting with the public while learning how to become responsible for the personal representation they portray to others.

Everyone is invited to the Candidate’s Banner Night and Apron Auction, on Mar. 11, 7 p.m. at the Barriere Lions Hall. This is a exciting evening for the new candidates as they, along with their sponsors, are introduced to the public, after which the candidates will receive their banners and tiaras.  Then, along with NTFFRA current Royalty, they will participate in a fun Apron Auction where all the girls get to model the aprons they have been so diligently creating while attendees have the opportunity to bid on claiming the apron of their choice. All monies raised during this event will assist with the costs of coaching, traveling and events for the candidates. Their will be socializing and refreshments afterwards, and an opportunity to meet the candidates and visit with the current NTFFRA Royalty.

Please come out and support these young women of your community.
