“This year, for the first time, Barriere will have an Investors Group representative present at our Walk for Memories,” announced Liz Gilbertson, organizer of the Barriere Alzheimer’s Walk for Memories. “It is exciting news, as it is a positive reflection of the turnouts we’ve been getting in recent years.”
Gilbertson encourages everyone to come out for the Walk saying, “Bring the kids and enjoy a walk and a lunch provided by local donators and volunteers. We also welcome our neighbours from Little Fort, Darfield, McLure and surrounding areas.”
As always, there will be lots of door prizes, as well as a silent auction. Gilbertson said that she’s already handed out quite a few pledge forms and people have even signed up online at www.walkformemories.com. The Alzheimer’s Walk for Memories will take place on January 30 at the Senior’s Centre; doors opening at 10 a.m. and Walk starting at 11 a.m.
