StoryWalk® back at Fadear Park in Barriere

Earlier this month the StoryWalk® boards placed around the oval in Barriere’s Fadear Park received severe damage to their clear covers. Due to the extreme heat of the sun shining directly on them while temperatures reached into the upper high 30 degrees and beyond, the covers crumpled and looked like they had burned. As a result the StoryWalk® boards had to be temporarily removed.

Barriere’s Head Librarian Pam Rudd announced on July 17 that StoryWalk® is now back and a new story has been installed.

“I am testing some new covers that are more UV resistant in five of the panels,” said Rudd, “Once it is determined they will work, I will re-print the background and replace all of the covers that scorched in the recent heat wave.”

In the meantime, a new story is ready to be enjoyed. Find board number one directly across from the library.
