It has been many years since the weather was cold enough over a period of time to be able to create ice for skating in the tennis/pickleball court in Barriere.
However, this year is different, and thanks to the dedicated efforts of District of Barriere Councilor Al Fortin, enthusiastic area volunteers, and Mother Nature’s recent prolonged cold snap dropping area temperatures into the minus -28° to -30’s this week, the outdoor rink on Airfield Road is now once again being enjoyed by all ages on ice skates.
