Just a little more than a month away and it will be time for the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo, mark your calendars, Aug. 30, 31, and Sept. 1.
The Fall Fair entry catalogues are out and about throughout the community at newsstands and gathering places. Please remember to pick one up, or go the the fair’s website, www.fallfair-rodeo.com.
This year the theme for the fair is, FARM + FAIR = FAMILY FUN!
Boy, what an exciting title! This truly is a great fair catalogue for you the exhibitor to look over and select where you will enter many of your exhibits, whether its the Flower Section, the Hobbies, the Baking, the Preserves, and so on. So much to read, and great fun selecting your sections to enter. The fall fair convenors love to see many entries in their sections, so let’s load up the tables and make a wonderful Fall Fair!
The Flower Section is Section 8, and you will find this on pages 30 and 31 in the catalogue.
Dodie Lysak and myself, Diane Bloomfield, are once again convenors for this section. Over the years, we have enjoyed all the exhibitors that bring in their entries with excitement, smiles, and a happy “hello”!
Here is a little information on what we do as convenors. We help the exhibitor in putting on the correct tags on their entries, place the item(s) in its correct place on the table, and do the preparation for the judging to get underway.
This year there will be a special prize to someone who has entered into the Flower Section. It will be a great surprise!
Remember, that FLOWER ENTRIES ONLY will be accepted until 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 30. The reason for this is to allow the gardener (exhibitor) the opportunity to pick the flowers early in the morning so they will be fresh and beautiful.
Please bring your own container, jar(s) with your exhibit.
