TV Players have to cancel Dec. 19 - 20 Christmas shows

Circumstances that have arisen that have made it impossible to provide the kind of show that is expected

The Thompson Valley Players would like to let the community know that their Christmas Play and 21st Century Christmas Carol planned for Dec 19 and 20 at the Fall Fair Hall has been cancelled.

“There are many circumstances that have arisen that have made it impossible to provide the kind of show we are usually proud to present,” said TV Players president Bev Murphy, “We do plan on doing the play we were working on next Christmas, but earlier in the season so there aren’t as many conflicts with time management.”

However, Murphy says that the members who have worked on skits and songs will be performing them this Friday at the Christmas Tree Light Up at the Barriere Bandshell in Fadear Park.

“We hope to see everyone at Fadear Park to celebrate our community spirit,” says Murphy,  “There are many things to organize and a great many people involved in the planning of any production, and sometimes a cancellation just can’t be helped.  We apologize for the cancellation and hope to bring a new production to life soon in the New Year. We appreciate the efforts and hard work of all our members and I look forward to future productions.”

Murphy also noted that in order to continue with productions the Thompson Valley Players need to build their membership.  The group is hoping to attract new members interested in acting or working behind the scenes.

“The Thompson Valley Players would like to thank the North Thompson Fall Fair for their continued support of our productions, and of course this community for always supporting our efforts,” said Murphy.

If you would like to find out how you can join this organization please contact Bev Murphy at 250-819-5684, or Bernice Randrup at 250-672-5859.  All ages are welcome to join and there is no membership fee. Meetings take place at the North Thompson Volunteer Centre during production of plays.  The AGM is held in February.
