Vital Tools For Success workshop in Barriere this fall

A one day workshop and information seminar for all non-profit and service groups in and around the North Thompson

Coming to Barriere this Fall is ‘Vital Tools for Success’, a one day workshop and information seminar for all non-profit and service groups in and around the North Thompson looking to build their programs, apply for funding and promote their group’s efforts.

The North Thompson Communities Foundation and the North Thompson Volunteer Centre have partnered to set the mechanics in motion to provide better tools for growth in our community.

The Lower North Thompson Community Forest and the District of Barriere are helping to support this vital workshop which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the volunteer room at The Ridge.

Cost of the program will be only $5 per person, with coffee and a light lunch provided.  Organizers ask that you, and as many people from your group as possible, pre-register to help them know how many people to expect.

Guest speakers booked for the event at this time include District of Barriere Mayor Virginia Smith, Star/Journal editor Jill Hayward, a representative from Capri Insurance, and a special presentation focusing on applying for funding and the grant process from a spokesperson of the BC Association for Charitable Gaming.

There will also be a report on volunteer recruitment, open floor discussions, and a group question period as well as a few other surprises.

“This is your chance to meet with other groups and see how we can all work together to provide more growth in our great community,” say organizers, “Everyone is welcome, even if you are just thinking about joining a group or forming one of your own, this information will give you the foundation to begin, or help you build, what you already have.

The final details are being nailed down now, and registration forms will be available the beginning of September.

For more information on this event please call NTVIC at 250-672-0033 and they will be happy to answer your questions.
