Wanted: Your beautiful flower entries for the Fall Fair

North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo 2011, Barriere

By Diane Bloomfield

Wake up! It’s time for the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo and your entries at the Fair.

As I was looking over the many different varieties and colors of flowers in my flower pots, I thought about how nice they would show in the upcoming Fair.  So now I am asking area gardeners to take a wander out to your flower beds, and see the beautiful blooms you can enter this year.

Make sure you pick up a Fall Fair entry catalogue so you can use it and a pencil to circle which flowers you would like to exhibit this year (pages 29 and 30). You’ll note as you scan the pages there are many categories to place your entry(s) into, such as; cut flowers, annuals, dahlias and gladiolis, flower arrangements, and potted plants.

The convenors of the Fall Fair Flower Section welcome your excitement, and participation in making this 62nd Fall Fair a beautiful and impressive show of flowers.

Flower entries only will be accepted until 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Exhibit Hall (Barriere Curling Rink).  Don’t be late and find yourself disappointed.

For information concerning anything regarding the Flower Section please call: Diane Bloomfield at 250-372-9564, or Dodie Lysak at 250-376-7472.

And once more we send congratulations to Barb Denton, the  Fall Fair’s 2010 winner of the perpetual aggregate trophy Leone Woodward Memorial.
