The District of Barriere held a very successful work bee at the Barriere Memorial Cemetery on May 3.
Sunny weather was enjoyed and plenty of work was accomplished by local volunteers: Bonnie CruzelleMyram, Audrey Rilcoe, Drake Smith from North Thompson Funeral Services, Lorraine Thorn, MaryAnn and Alannah Canaday, Lianne, Brent and Emma-Rae Hamblin, Nora Johnson Bryon Haller, Bill Humphreys, Councillor Virginia Smith, Cindy Myram and Tim Johnson, with Jim Owen, District Parks Staff, operating the tractor and wagon. Our apologies if we have missed anyone who did help out that day.
The District supplied hot dogs and hamburgers after the work bee, expertly cooked by ‘Chef Extraordinaire’ Harley Wright and ‘sous chef’ Lynn Wright.
The Cemetery Committee is in the process of planning landscaping for the future and would greatly appreciate any input from the public.
The next work bee is planned for June 14 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., again with excellent culinary rewards at the end. Hope to see you there.
