For those of you that do not already know me, my name is Colin Mcinnis and I am a candidate for District Council in the upcoming Oct. 15 election.

My wife (Elise McInnis), our five-year-old daughter (Riley) and I have called Barriere our home for over five years now.

My best attributes and experience were obtained during my time as a project manager. I was constantly inundated with unforeseen challenges that arose during complex projects. This is where I developed my problem solving and attentive communication skills. I approach every challenge I come across knowing that there is a solution on the other side.

Our community is facing some challenges. At the top of this list is healthcare, residential rentals and infrastructure. Over the past year I have been working on a three-phase eight-year plan for our community. This plan focuses on our most critical issues, not only does the plan address these issues but it has The District of Barriere investing in itself. We will utilize current & future assets to produce revenue and create a community that sets the bar for other small towns.

I will be making myself available for three meet-and-greets in the coming week. Please come ask me about my plan and tell me your ideas, your concerns and ask me questions.

If elected into council, the day I sit in that chair is the day I will put my plan into motion, moving our town forward in ways that suit every walk of life.
