If elected what is the most relevant skill or experience you can contribute to council?

· I have been on Barriere Town Council for the past eight years (two terms). As the oldest of the council members during my current tenure, I bring to council the perspective of a senior residing in this community and an active community volunteer.

What do you see as the biggest issue facing the community and how do you intend to tackle it?

· I feel strongly that we need to form a plan to protect our community from wildfires. We have been discussing in council ways to mitigate wildfires and this is something that can only have a positive outcome. The town and the residents need to work together on this.

Are North Thompson communities being ignored by federal and provincial governments?

· No, current council has a great rapport with our MP and MLA. I feel we can contact them at any time and be taken seriously about any concerns we may have. The lack of paramedics is causing problems for some NT Communities.

How should communities approach this issue which falls under provincial jurisdiction?

· I feel that we need to join with other communities in B.C. and find out first of all “Why has this become a problem”- we are hearing different stories and I feel we need to understand what is happening before we can start to solve the complexities involved.
