Are you a logger? Do you have a yen to be a lumberjack or lumberjill? Why not enter the bull in the woods regional logging competition challenge class for best locals being held July 1 at the Fall Fair grounds? Competitors must have a postal code from an area in Kamloops to Blue River and must be at least 19 years of age. Prize for the Best Locals Competition is a brand new ECHO chainsaw and gear package (value of $1500). Three events will determine the Best Local (stock saw race, chocker race, and axe throw). Only 12 entrants will be accepted and your entry fee is just $20. Safety equipment will be provided for competitors if you do not have your own. Entries for the Best Local competition close June 28, and all entrants must sign a waiver at the event before competing. This event is all part of a full day of Regional Logging Competitions at the North Thompson Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 1, from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., along with Barriere’s Canada 150 celebrations, all followed by a Logger’s Stomp Dance from 8p.m. to 1 a.m. Come on down and have a blast!
