A photographer’s 12 Days of Christmas

For fun this year I asked members of my favorite online forum www.Canadian-Photographers.ca to give me ideas for a photographer’s version of the Twelve Days of Christmas. They had a good time posting what their true love should send; and some suggestions were far too creative to fit. But after editing and smoothing the edges I came up with the following.

The Twelve Photographer’s Days of Christmas

On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me a brand new DSLR.

On the second day of Christmas my true love sent to me two different tripods, and a brand new DSLR.

On the third day of Christmas my true love sent to me three Pocket Wizards, two different tripods, and a brand new DSLR.

On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me four mini softboxes, three Pocket Wizards, two different tripods, and a brand new DSLR.

On the fifth day of Christmas my true love sent to me five camera bags, four mini softboxes, three Pocket Wizards, two different tripods, and a brand new DSLR.

On the sixth day of Christmas my true love sent to me six zoom lenses, five camera bags, four mini softboxes, three Pocket Wizards, two different tripods, and a brand new DSLR.

On the eighth day of Christmas my true love sent to me eight beautiful backdrops, seven wireless speedlights, six zoom lenses, five camera bags, four mini softboxes, three Pocket Wizards, two different tripods, and a brand new DSLR.

On the ninth day of Christmas my true love sent to me nine filters filtering, eight beautiful backdrops, seven wireless speedlights, six zoom lenses, five camera bags, four mini softboxes, three Pocket Wizards, two different tripods, and a brand new DSLR.

On the tenth day of Christmas my true love sent to me ten photography books for reading, nine filters filtering, eight beautiful backdrops, seven wireless speedlights, six zoom lenses, five camera bags, four mini softboxes, three Pocket Wizards, two different tripods, and a brand new DSLR.

On the eleventh day of Christmas my true love sent to me eleven cards of memory, ten photography books for reading, nine filters filtering, eight beautiful backdrops, seven wireless speedlights, six zoom lenses, five camera bags, four mini softboxes, three Pocket Wizards, two different tripods, and a brand new DSLR.

On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love sent to me twelve camera classes, eleven cards of memory, ten photography books for reading, nine filters filtering, eight beautiful backdrops, seven wireless speedlights, six zoom lenses, five camera bags, four mini softboxes, three Pocket Wizards, two different tripods, and a brand new DSLR.

One can, with lots of poetic license and creative rhythm, sing the lyrics. And for those photographers that think this might help their spouse, children, friends, and relatives with gift ideas for this Christmas, just tear the newspaper page out for them.

And if you have any additions, go to www.Canadian-Photographers.ca and join in the fun.

Merry Christmas to everyone. I have a new email address and welcome your comments and suggestions at emcam@telus.net or call me at (250) 371-3069.
