High value quilt to be prize in Barriere Walk for Alzheimer’s raffle

This 80”x 80” handmade quilt is the first prize for the Barriere and Area Investors Group Walk For Alzheimer’s raffle to be drawn on May 1

This year, the Barriere and Area Investors Group Walk For Alzheimer’s event will be happening on May 1.

As usual, it will start with registration at 10 a.m. at the Barriere & District Seniors Hall.  The Walk will start at 11 a.m. and is followed by a light lunch, door prizes, silent auction and the raffle.

The raffle prizes have been selected and some really amazing items have been donated.

The first prize is a gorgeous 80” x 80” handmade quilt, donated by the Barriere Community Quilters in honour of Petrine Edwards who is this year’s honouree for the Barriere Walk.  The quilt has an estimated value of $800.

Second prize is an amazing group of gift certificates from North Thompson Valley restaurants, with a combined value of over $400.  Restaurants from Barriere, Little Fort and Clearwater have donated certificates anywhere from $10 to $50.

Third prize is a golfing package for Eaglepoint Golf Resort, donated by Investors Group, Kamloops, and has an estimated value of $200.

Tickets will be available at a variety of places in Barriere, Little Fort and Clearwater.  Watch for posters saying “tickets available here”.

Also watch for our volunteers selling tickets around town on various dates.
