Drawing of the winning tickets for the Barriere Community Quilter’s Raffle took place at the Food Bank on Thursday, May 12, with Star/Journal editor Jill Hayward picking the three lucky tickets.  First prize of a colourful quilt went to Mary Anne King, Kamloops; second prize of a table topper and afghan went to Kim Keating of Barriere, and the third prize of a tool chest drill was won by Donna Greenwood of Clearwater.

“Our raffle was a great success,” said quilter Bea Mann, “Thanks to the work and enthusiasm of our members, and everyone else involved.”

She noted the raffle’s profit of $1500 makes it possible for the quilting group to present two bursaries to Barriere Secondary student grads this year, and to also guarantee a bursary for the next two years.
