On Thursday, Oct. 2 the Barriere Community Quilters were pleased to have a visit from Bill Kershaw, TNRD director, Electoral Area O (Lower North Thompson); Debbie Winiski, President of Barriere and District Food Bank and; Barb Gordon from AVA (Anti Violence Advocates Society)

This gave us the opportunity to say thank you to Bill Kershaw and the TNRD for their on going financial support for our group’s efforts in making quilts for the community and surrounding areas. Also to thank Debbie Winiski for the use of the Food Bank building where we hold our weekly quilting meetings. At the same time we presented AVA Board Director Barb Gordon with 13 more quilts to be used in their Emergency Response Packs. These packs are given to adults and children who are victims of violence.
