Are you caring for a person with dementia, or do you know someone who is?  The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is presenting a workshop called “Understanding Dementia, Communication and Behaviour”, on Monday, Sept. 29, 6:30 p.m. at the Ridge,.

The workshop is an education session for family members caring for a person with dementia.  Attendees will learn about the different types of dementia and practical coping strategies; tools for effective, meaningful communication with the person with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia; and behaviour as a form of communication and tips for understanding what the person with dementia might be trying to communicate.
