Dogs With Jobs weekend showcases working dogs and their trainers

The third annual Dogs With Jobs was an exciting weekend at the North Thompson Fall Fair grounds showcasing the skills and abilities of a variety of breeds and their trainers.

The North Thompson Stock Dog Association — in partnership with the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo Association — hosted the third annual Dogs With Jobs event at the fairgrounds in Barriere over the weekend of July 27.

The event was an exciting combination of competitions, workshops and demonstrations. The weekend show highlighted the skills and abilities of working dogs and their trainers, and featured a variety of breeds and specialties such as search and rescue, hunting, cadaver dog demos, and cattle and sheep dog trials.

“The weekend was really great," said Brenda Wilson, event organizer and co-founder and vice president of the North Thompson Stock Dog Association.

"Everyone enjoyed the excitement of the events Dogs With Jobs offered this year, and it is such a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate working breeds each year. We are so thankful to everyone for making this year’s events such a success, and looking forward to next year being even more memorable.”
