Helicopter work on NT Valley fire

A lightening strike on July 1 in the Lower North Thompson, most likely from the same storm that started a fire in the Orchard Lake area, sparked a fire just south of Pinatan, advised Ron Lines on social media Saturday morning.

A lightening strike on July 1 in the Lower North Thompson, most likely from the same storm that started a fire in the Orchard Lake area, sparked a fire just south of Pinatan, advised Ron Lines on social media Saturday morning.

Lines noted the fire was at Clarence Lake, just south of Pinatan, but had already been knocked down and in the mop up phase.

“Crews are working on hot spots,” said Lines.

In a later post Lines reported the helicopter had left the site around 8 p.m. on Friday, and all BC Wildfire personnel had departed the site.
