Missing Barriere senior Gai Conan was found safe on Saturday, Aug. 31 after going missing for 35 hours say Barriere Search and Rescue. Cpl. Kyle Camalush detachment commander of the Barriere RCMP said, “Mrs. Conan has been located safely and is under the care of her family. Extensive efforts were made throughout a number of RCMP jurisdictions, in collaboration with Search and Rescue, which led to the prompt return of Mrs. Conan.”
Senior citizen Gai Conan was missing and her family asked for assistance in locating her in the Barriere area in the North Thompson to be aware on Friday. Gai suffers from dementia and was last seen at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 30 when she left in her older model four-door Chevrolet Impala, license plate 757 KLS, to do 'chores' on the family farm off Dunn Lake Road.
Currently Barriere Search and Rescue along with the Barriere RCMP are satisfied that Conan is now safe and the search concluded.
The family posted on social media thanking the public, Barriere Search and Rescue and the RCMP for their extensive search and expressing their relief to have Conan safely home again.
