Barriere RCMP advise they have received reports of road signs within the District of Barriere that have been removed from their placements and placed on the ground or stolen altogether.

These include signs that warn drivers of pedestrian crossings, school zones, and slip hazards on the Barriere Bridge during colder temperatures. The poles for the signs have in some cases been completely removed from the ground.

“Tampering with these signs places both drivers and pedestrians, including children, at increased risk” says Cpl. Welsman of the Barriere RCMP, “We ask that anyone with information on who is removing these signs to come forward and report their observations.”

If you have information or have witnessed suspicious activity, please call the Barriere RCMP at 250-672-9918, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) to make an anonymous tip.
