Police look to identify suspect in attempted break in at Barriere Liquor Store

Police report that on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 1:20 am, Barriere RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at the BC Liquor Store in the community on Barriere Town Road.

Police report that on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 1:20 am, Barriere RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at the BC Liquor Store in the community on Barriere Town Road.

Police Dog Service were called to assist, and upon arrival police discovered someone had attempted to gain entry to the store but were unsuccessful. However, the building was damaged as a result of the attempted break and enter with the front doors of the business receiving the brunt of the damage.

Video surveillance was obtained by police and shows the suspect on the outside of the door trying to gain entry.

The suspect has been described as possibly a Caucasian man wearing a black baseball cap with a white logo in the front, and a white balaclava (but it is unable to determine the pattern design). The suspect also appeared to be wearing a red T-shirt, dark jeans ,and black shoes with white soles.
