Eight members of the Barriere Pickleball Club participated in the Canada 55+ Summer Games in Kamloops, last week.

Congratulations to Carmel Keenan and Brian Dorish, winning bronze medals in the ice hockey category, and to Mary MacLennan and Linda Ransome for winning gold medals in the pickleball category.

Babes Shanko, Judith Klontz, Sue Syfchuck and Tracy Sealy also participated in the pickleball category, playing teams from Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Yukon, B.C., and Manitoba.

The pickleball players would like to thank the Kamloops Pickleball Club, volunteers, and referees, as well as family and friends for coming out and supporting them.

Carmel Keenan would like to thank her husband (and coach), Brian Dorish, and all the pickleball gals who came to the rink to cheer her on.

Many of the opposing team members, and their families, as well as some referees, commented on Barriere’s good sportsmanship, and team comradery.

A very proud week for Barriere Pickleball Club.
