On Feb. 2-3, seven junior girls teams competed in the Barriere Secondary Jr. Girls Cougar Classic. Simpcw Drummers opened with a welcome song to start off a weekend of basketball. Great basketball was played all weekend and the games were competitive as the crowds cheered them on. Our home team came out on top and kept the first place trophy at home.

In an intense final game Barriere Jr. Girls won over Pleasant Valley (Armstrong) by four points. The final score was 24-20 in favour of Barriere. Both teams played great defence, which kept the score low.

Third place went to the Merritt Panthers, and fourth place went to South Kamloops Titans. The Barriere Jr. Girls would like to thank our amazing community for coming out and cheering them on and supporting our concession.
