It was a cold and dreary Tuesday on Aug. 27 at Chinook Cove, with the rain never-ending. Those present asked themselves what it was with the 14 ladies there, who were dressed like it was October, heading out to golf. Were we crazy or very dedicated?
Hole 1: Long drive, split between Flights 1 and 2, went to Flight 1’s Marian Wallace. Long drive, split between Flights 3 and 4, went to Flight 3’s Jamie Mosdell. Putting the ball can make or break your game, as many golfers know. There were some impressive putts out there. Maybe coming this close to the end of the season the golf balls are starting to smarten up.
Hole 2: Long putt, split between Flights 1 and 2, went to Flight 2’s Anita Hill. Long putt, split between Flights 3 and 4, went to Flight 4’s Desi Newby.
Hole 3: It was the time to show off your long drive. Long drive, Flight 1 went to Donna Salle. Long drive, Flight 2 went to Babes Shanko. Long drive, Flight 3 went to Kate Whitmore. Everyone in Flight 4 must have been off the fairway, because long drive, Flight 4 went unclaimed.
Hole 4: KP, Flight 1 went to Donna Salle and KP, Flight 3 went to Jamie Mosdell. KPs for Flights 2 and 4 went unclaimed.
Hole 5: Long putt, Flight 4 went to Zarina Mitchell (out of pure luck, I might add).
Hole 6: KP, Flight 2 went to Debbie Rainer and KP, Flight 3 went to Emma Schilling. KPs for Flights 1 and 4 went unclaimed.
Hole 7: Only three balls went into the gully on Hole 7. RIP to the balls of Zarina Mitchell and Kayla Mosdell (times two). KP in 2, split between Flights 1 and 2, went to Flight 1’s Donna Salle. KP in 2, split between Flights 3 and 4, went to Flight 4’s Desi Newby.
Hole 8: Long putt, all Flights went to Flight 4’s Kayla Mosdell.
Hole 9: Long putt, Flight 4 went to Desi Newby. Least number of putts went to Kayla Mosdell, by retro, with 15 putts. Most number of putts went to Jamie Mosdell with 23 putts.
Now on to all the ladies who won in their respective Flights.
Flight 1: Low gross went to Donna Salle with a score of 48, and low net went to Marian Wallace with a score of 38.5.
Flight 2: Low gross went to Babes Shanko with a score of 53, and low net went to Debbie Rainer with a score of 39.
Flight 3: Low gross went to Evelyn Lucas with a score of 54, and low net went to Jamie Mosdell with a score of 36.
Flight 4: Low gross went to Desi Newby with a score of 56, and second low gross went to Zarina Mitchell with a score of 71. Donna Salle and Evelyn Lucas were playing together, and they both got on the green in two strokes, then birdied Hole 7! Good job ladies.
Well, the last Ladies' Night of the season is coming up! This summer went by too fast, but it was a lot of fun. Our last night is on Sept. 10 and we hope to see you there!
