Join the ladies every Tuesday evening

Warm weather - what a joy! It is so nice to see the sunshine without a ton of wind. Yes, I know wind doesn’t weigh a lot but it does tend to drag down my spirits when it is a cold wind. I even managed to get out in the garden to do some weeding and cleaning up the winter’s debris. But I didn’t work in the yard on Tuesday, May 24, because I don’t like to use up all my energy and not have anything left for golf.

We ladies had a most enjoyable game - well, at least I did and I hope my golfing partners did as well.

I bet you want to know who had great games and took home the prizes?

In Flight 1 Louise Lodge won low gross by retro with a score of 43. You do remember that in this case “gross” is good. Donna Salle won low net with the same 43 (32). In Flight 2 Babes Shanko scored 52 to win low gross and Debbie Rainer (she is the one who hates Retro) won low net with a 53 (37.5). Flight 3 low gross winner was Deb Winiski with a 52 and Jackie Van Sickle was low net with a 57 (33). In Flight 4 two golfers, Vicki McDowell and Rose Seymour scored 59 to win low gross. We give out two gross prizes in Flight 4 so we didn’t need to worry about Retro. This week’s sponsors were Ainsley Gullage or Sun Life, Kelly McNabney of TriPeaks Physio, the Smiths (Barb and Carman variety) and Campbell and Co.

The Pot Picker Uppers were Theresa Young for a deuce while Donna Salle, Marian Wallace and Vicki McDowell took the pots for Chip Ins. Donna Salle had the least putts (13) while Lynda Fournier had the most (25).

I am thinking that on Wednesday some of the golfers should head down into the gully to harvest all the balls that the ladies plant there on Tuesday night. Thankfully the ladies get a replacement ball courtesy of North Thompson Funeral Services.

The Long Drivers this week were Theresa Young (Little Fort Subway, and Station House Restaurant), Lorie Chambers (Munro’s Clothing and Thompson Valley Awards), Terri Jones (MJB Lawyers) and Wanda Amos (AG Foods). The Long Putters were Brenda Carl (Rainer Custom Cutting), Deb Legaree (Sam’s Pizza), Darlene Nickull (Armour Mountain Office), Debbie Rainer (Barriere Motor Inn) and Leslie Stirling (Barriere Timber Mart). The KP people were Donna Salle (Realtor Cindy Leibel), Jackie Van Sickle (Salle Ranch), Vicki McDowell (Stamer Logging), and Liesje Gough (Brian and Brenda Carl). The KP in 2 prizes went to Rose Seymour (EBL Ventures), Louise Lodge (HUB International) and Deb Winiski (Quality Contractors).

We followed the game up in the usual fashion - dinner, laughter, prizes, friends and a little foolishness on the patio. What more could I ask for. Well, perhaps a better score. Maybe next week. Will we be seeing you there?
