It wasn’t a Manic Monday - it was a Tremendous Tuesday on May 4.

Thirty-five ladies turned out on a beautiful May day to try their luck at winning some of the prizes and enjoy an afternoon with friends. Sadly, I wasn’t there; however, I was having a fantastic time marrying a couple (May the force be with you). Being a marriage commissioner is one of my greatest joys. I also enjoy golfing…I just don’t get to enjoy golfing well.

The low gross golfers who did golf well were Kelly McNabney (Flight 1), Doreen Landry (Flight 2), Jeannie Webber (Flight 3) and Kim Van Sickle (Flight 4). The low net winners were Donna Salle (1), Susan Bondar (2), Trish Thompson (3) and second low gross in Flight 4 was won by Jacki Van Sickle. Low Gross/Low Net sponsors this week were Stamer Logging, Campbell & Co. and HUB International.

Pot winners this week were Jacki Van Sickle with a deuce in Flight 4 and Marian Wallace with a birdie in Flight 1 while Deb Legaree and Evelyn Lucas shared the chip-in pot for Flight 2. We have added a wrinkle to the pots this year by having pots for each flight instead of a single overall pot. Yes, I know - the pots had me totally confused already without splitting things another four ways.

Prizes for Long Drive in 2 went to Jess Thompson (Armour Mountain Office), Lois McInnis (Barriere Motor Inn), Susan Mitchell (Barriere Timber Mart) and Deb Legaree (Barriere IDA/Munro’s). Those ladies with Long Drives were Cindy Leibel (Sam’s Pizza), Doreen Landry (Station House Restaurant), Jess Thompson (Sun Life/Ainsley Gullage) and Lois McInnis (T & T Liquidation). KPs were made by Cindy Leibel (Barb and Carman Smith and Royal LePage which she sponsors herself), Babes Shanko (MJB Lawyers), Jeannie Webber (Salle Ranch), and Doreen Landry (Brian and Brenda Carl). KPs in 2 were made by Jacki Van Sickle (EBL Ventures) and Marian Wallace (Quality Contractors). Good putts earned prizes for Trish Thompson (Rainer Custom Cutting), Leanna Layton (AG Foods) and Deb Rainer (Thompson Valley Awards). Most and Least Putt Prizes are sponsored anonymously. Trish Thompson won Least Putts with 14 while Donna Fraser won Most Putts with 28.

My favourite part of Ladies Night is handing out prizes and making people laugh. I have been collecting jokes to tell the ladies and I can’t wait until Dr. Bonnie says I can do it again. In the meantime if you won a prize you can pick it up at the clubhouse. If you aren’t sure if you won, still ask because we gave out 10 door prizes this week. And thanks to North Thompson Funeral Services you can pick up your prize if you went into the gulley on Hole 7.

And remember - “The people who gave us golf and called it a game are the same people who gave us bagpipes and called it music.” See you at the course.
