Councillor Donna Kibble.

Question: What made you want to run for councillor again?

A: Councillor Donna Kibble has served on council for four years. She said the last four years have been “really interesting” and that she’s learned a lot and would like the opportunity to continue to help her community.

Question: What do you believe qualifies you to continue serving on council?

A: Aside from having served on council for the past four years, she said, “I’ve lived in the community a long time, so I belong to a lot of different groups.”

Among the groups Kibble belongs to are the Barriere and District Heritage Society and the Senior Society.

She used to serve as the president of the North Thompson Fall Fair and the BC Agricultural Expo.

She also said she has the time to be able to invest in serving on council.

Question: What are the more important issues in Barriere?

A: “Getting downtown cleaned up,” she said. “We have to finish the water lines and some of the buildings need to be addressed.” Beautifying the downtown core, she said, is a big priority.

Question: What would you like to change?

A: As it stands, dogs are not allowed in Fadear Park unless they are on a leash.

“I’d like to work on getting the dog park that everyone has been talking about,” she said.

As for where said dog park might go, she said it would take some work to find the right place.

Question: Why should people vote for you?

A: “Because I love Barriere, I’m dedicated and I will do a good job.”
