Voters across British Columbia head to the polls on Saturday to choose a mayor, council and other leaders in local government.
Polls are open in Barriere at the following locations until 8 p.m. PT:

Who is running for mayor?
Mike Fennell, born and raised in Barriere, was the towns first mayor when it became incorporated in 2007 and served until 2011, he was defeated in the next election and then returned as a councillor in 2014.
Ward Stamer, born, raised and a business owner in Barriere. He has been a councillor in Barriere since it incorporated in 2007. Now, he says he has the time to put his hat in the ring to take the next step into the mayor’s chair.

Who is running for council?
Linda Altenhofen, moved to Barriere in 1972, moved away after graduating and then moved back eight years ago. She is running for council for the first time.
Judy Armstrong, has lived in Barriere for 25 years and is now running for council for the first time.
Al Fortin, is running for his second term on council, “I would like to finish some of the projects we started”.

Scott Kershaw is running for council for the first time. Born and raised in Barriere he says, “Let’s get things done!”
Rob Kerslake is running for his first term on council saying “I care deeply about Barriere and its future”.
Donna Kibble has served on council for the past four years, says she “loves Barriere, is dedicated and will do a good job”.
Pat Paula has been serving on council since incorporation in 2007 and says “there are still things that need doing”.

Shane Quiding is running for council for the first time, moved to Barriere in 2003, and says “I will stand up and fight for what’s right”.
Amanda Sabyan, has served seven years on council and is running again because “my heart is in Barriere”.
Who is running for Thompson Nicola Regional District Electoral Area ‘O’?
Bill Humphreys, previously served on the TNRD Board as chair during his term as mayor of Barriere.
Bill Kershaw, originally served on the TNRD Board for nine years, took seven years off, and returned to be the TNRD Area ‘O’ Director for six consecutive years, and is now looking for re-election “Because I have developed a trust with the people”.
Who is running for school board?
Rhonda Kershaw has been re-elected District 73 school board trustee by acclamation.
