Canada Day in the community of Barriere was a milestone.  Dignitaries, residents and people who have connections to the area gathered to celebrate Barriere’s 100th birthday along with Canada’s 147th.   There was speeches, presentations, music, old fashioned tea parties, hay rides, games, old time photography, refreshments and plenty of reminiscing.  Original scheduled for June 15, the 100th was postponed to July 1 due to thunderstorm warnings at the time.
