The 2016 Barriere Community Terry Fox Run was a huge success!  Terry looked after the weather for 118 participants who raised $12,540 - BEST year ever!

We have some wonderful memories this year; two-day-old baby Charlotte Harper attended with her mother Alora, and the first year to have a horse and buggy entered, driven by Dave Stutt along with passenger Ted Smith.

The participants wearing red T-shirts were Terry’s team - having battled or are battling cancer - many with their families there to support them.

Babes Shanko along with her three grandchildren warmed us up to the “Terry Fox Song” written and composed by Dale Kalhood.

There were 13 employees with three retirees from Gilbert Smith Forest Products Ltd. who raising funds with their families and $100 each pledged from the company.

Run co-organizer Kris Luison raised an astonishing $1585 in pledges from generous businesses and people of the community.

We are thankful to all the wonderful volunteers.  It was nice to have our Fall Fair Ambassador, Geri-Lee Genier assisting as well as students from the highschool running the music (Damien and Colton).

Thank you Barriere!
