BARRIERE, B.C. - The Brennan Creek Recreation Site on the west shore of Adams Lake is closed to all users until further notice.

The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development reports in a May 1, 208 notice that the closure is due to recent geotechnical monitoring that has confirmed ongoing land movement and slumping in the area.

“The entire recreation site - including all campsites, day-use areas and the boat launch - is too unstable for public use, so it will remain closed indefinitely,” states a Ministry of Forests press release, noting that the site will continue to be monitored.

The Adams Lake West Forest Service Road that runs above the Brennan Creek Recreation Site remains open to vehicle traffic, but all access points to the recreation site are closed.

Signs are posted to notify motorists and members of the public about this closure.
